This mansion is a fine example of Victorian Italianate architecture, and was originally built by the Gurd Family of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Gurd was a patron of the Group of Seven artists, and he arranged the very first commercial showing of their artwork.

This house was also my childhood home. It was an amazing place in which to grow up with its grand spaces and rich detailing. It may have been the inspiration for my becoming an architect. Little did I know I would cross paths with the history of the Gurd family again when I became the project architect for the renovations of the McMichael Canadian Collection in Kleinburg, Ontario, where many of the works of the Group are now displayed. This site documents that journey, as well as my career as an architect.

The Web Site presents my work of the last 15 years, with a focus on facility planning, interior renovations, and colour consulting. Occasionally, I consult with other architectural firms assisting them with their projects.

Each page is designed to give an overview of the type of detailed work I do on a variety of projects. The Site also includes a section on my dogs. I did not know at the time of being adopted by our first dog, that I would end up designing and presenting an information pavilion promoting the breed and winning awards for it. I also developed a line of clothing reflecting my interest in the breed and to underwrite the costs of this educational programme.
